TOP

after lots of speculations on the TOP of our love nest on the forum, we have officially receive the TOP notice fr Hoi Hup. It will be 4th quarter of this yr, so it could be Oct, Nov or Dec.

The earlier the better, as it would mean with simple renovation, we could spend 2011 CNY at our new place.

However, if Mr Ong's request for extension for another semester is approved by his boss, we will only be back next april, which means we will be able to go for more ski trips during the winter!!! yeah!!! plus we get to siam another yr ang bao giving!! muahahha what ever happens its still win-win situation..hahahah

Now u see it now u dont!!

borrowed a sewing machine from our community center and attempted to sew. thinking that it should not be hard to operate it. Fiddle with the threading and stuff but can get it work properly, so still end up with hand-stitching the garments instead.

Well nothing fantastic, just converted one of Mr Ong's old jeans into a pair of shorts.. just cut fold and sew. Also converted two of my old jeans to a pair of shorts and three-quarters, also cut, fold sew. The stitches are not very well done like those on Project Runway, but its not too shabby.. muhahahahah

As for the remaining fabric, still deciding what to do with them....

Washington D.C (9th-11th April 2010)

we made a road trip to Washington D.C with some of Mr Ong's classmates... drove abt 20hrs and travel 1200miles (to and fro) just to catch a glimpse of the Cherry Blossom surrounding the beautiful historic monuments and buildings.

Along the way, we stopped several times for toilet, rest and food breaks. One of the stops was on the this hill top.. it was damn cold and windy and it even snowed a little, but the view up hill is breathe taking and totally worth it.

We also stopped at Gettysburg, a town full of american civil war history.

Although we missed the peak blooming of all the 3700 Cherry Blossom trees, we still managed to see abt 100 trees that were well bloomed.

The buildings in D.C are full of history and are all very beautiful, perhaps its the capital, thats why all the buildings are so beautiful. I'm kinda of a sucker for old, victorian, beige & white stoned & marbled buildings with flowers/ angles cravings, cuz they are so simple and can be so romantic against the gorgeous sunset lightings...

We also watched the american version of Ching-gay.. not as impressive like the SG version, but it was fun watching... everything much more simple and less commercial...the weather was so good that we kena sunburn muhahaha.. needed the sun as my vitamin D was even lower then my last test... hahahaha

As it the Cherry Blossom period, there was a Japanese pasa malam after the ching-gay. There were stalls selling various expensive but relatively good jap food. There were beer and sake garden and ppl dressing in kimonos and cos-play.

Oh yeah, we stayed at Hyatt Regency which was downtown and it was walking distance to all the activities and all the historic monuments and museums and yes, we walk 98% of our trips to the museums, it was tiring and fun!!
