The first trip we took that did not require me to plan the itinerary as Mr Ong's fren, Tony has it all covered... he and his wife, Coco, visit Toronto every 6 months and he knows the place pretty well.... but he warned us that the trip is more of gorging and he is right... Mr Ong's stomach is very happy from the trip!!!!!
Day 1:
We started our road trip 630am and drove abt 5hrs till we reach the Chinatown in Toronto.
1st snack we had was 茶叶蛋, so-so only but it was the familiarity of asian food that we needed. As i have been craving for papaya and Mr Ong craving for lychees, the fruit stall was the 2nd stop. Mr Ong bought 1kg worth of lychees and i had 1 whole papaya by myself... yummy....ehhehee

Then we stopped by an Asian Festival, which had lots of Asian food stalls ad we had a blast there... we had Taiwan Smelly Tofu, Fresh Grill lobster, Hong Kong Curry Fishballs etc...
As fresh seafood is hard to come by in AA, sashimi, fish and prawns are our weakness. but lucky for us, we stopped by Wasabi, a Japanese Buffet Restaurant and had our cravings satisfied.....
we miss playing mahjong during the weekends with my family and have been relying online mahjong games. But lucky for us, as Tony bought a new set of mahjong for himself and we managed to play with it... looks like there will be more mahjong sessions to come... hehehhehee

Day 2:
Toronto has lots of Asian and many of them i believe are fr Hong Kong as they speak Cantonese and they make the best Dim Sum!! so of cuz we had to have top-notch Dim Sum. Having said that, reputable restaurant have never-ending waiting lines and we had to wait for abt 40 mins (even with reservation) to be seated, plus the table was not set when we reach the chairs. But lucky for us, we already placed order before we got seated, so it only took them a short while before our food... the meal was simply yummylicious and satisfying... we left the restaurant rubbing our stomachs contented....
After Dim Sum, we intended to visit the downtown area and also one of the city's tallest tower, CN tower. But we couldn't as the G20 submit was held there, the roads are closed and there were lots of protesters doing damage to the nearby shops and even burning down police cars...
So we head to Pacific Mall instead. the mall is just like SG's 珍珠仿... lots of shops selling Asian stuff, dried food, bubble tea shops and so on... As the Asian Festival is next to the mall, we went back again...hahaha just to see if we have any food we wanted to try...
And for dinner, we had hot pot... yummy as usual, plus it was pouring so even better timing for hot pot... =)))))
