24022011

another great yr for us... how time flies as we celebrate our 2nd yr of marriage =))

we or rather i, am still learning new things about him...

i still love waking up in bed together with him beside me, cuddling under the sheets, the endless hugs and kisses that i receive all the time.. =))

the very honest & bland opinions given on some stuff i do from him still drives me crazy, but i'm getting much better at accepting it as positive encouragement. its always harder to accept truths and criticisms from someone so close to you =))

as the weather turns colder and the wind howls stronger, we ate in for our dinner.
made buttermilk fried chicken with chicken rice & greens and chilli lobsters...
simple affair followed by re-watching Prison Break. funny how i dun have any recollection for season 3's episodes, Dar said we watched together... =))

i look forward to many more great yrs ahead with Dar with lots of happiness, love, tears, laughters, hugs and kisses =))

Dar's plastics appt

we finally manged to see someone from the UofM plastics dept. the assistant physician confirm that dar broke his radial bone, and the x-ray showed that the bone is healing and progressing, which is great news...

however, the not-so-good news is the concern of the wrist ligament that is damage and surgery will be one of the option. the damage could be due to wear and tear + previous sprains + the broken wrists 16yrs ago + the recent damage. the assistant physician mention that the chances of getting arthritis earlier in age on the wrist will be much higher if we decide not to go ahead with the surgery and let it heal naturally.

Dar took his MRI yesterday and will be back next week for the review with the head surgeon to discuss the report and also to fix the date for the surgery. hopefully the surgery can be done asap so that Dar will have enough time to rest and prepare for his final papers...

still keeping our fingers cross... =))

Mr Ong broke his wrist, again...

*dar broke his wrist skiing on 11th Feb, but he didnt want to let his family know till we confirm with the doc his actual condition and if surgery is required*

recalling the day he broke his wrist, i cant help that the image of him falling keeps re-appearing in my mind... i saw him went up the ramp beautifully, but the moment i saw his landing position, i somehow knew its not right and a sudden panic came over....and my heart skipped a few beats and my breathing stop when he did not move for a while... when he finally managed to sit himself up, he looked like he was in pain and could not move much. i do not know if he broke or sprain his legs or arms or he was just simply in shock from the fall...

by the time i reached him, he was in pain but not sure if it was his shoulder, arm or wrist. lucky the snow petrol medics came and quickly got him out of the cold and did some simple first-aid. Tony then drove us to the nearest ER and so Mr Ong was admitted...

Although we went to ER, they way the medical staff review Mr Ong and took x-ray was not ER pace at all.. very different from SG medical standard... they were not able to operate Mr Ong. only helped him push back the bone and cast it up. we can only wait for the swelling to go down before we can make appointment with a orthopedic specialist... all this took about 5hrs... faint...

the realignment of the wrist bone was so painful i almost feel the pain in my wrist... i feel his pain =((  the before and after realignment xray has a huge difference... nad the after xray looks much better...

now we are waiting for the orthopedics to get back to us with an appointment to review if Mr Ong needs to go for surgery... hopefully he does not have to undergo surgery... keeping my fingers cross

CNY 2011

another yr of CNY spent abroad, away from family and home-cooked food =(( but the skyping and exchanging of oranges over the webcam makes it fun and unique and cured some of the home-sickness...

but nevertheless, Mr Ong and myself have fun with our frens here eating hotpot and doing cny stuff...hahaha

again i tried making pineapple tarts which is a success... enjoy making the pineapple jam from scratch and this time round its sweet and moist...i like... didnt attempt to make ba kwa as we still have a few packs left...

hotpot sessions have been very filling as usual...hahaha this cny we cant build snowman, cuz either there was no snow or the snow were to dry to use...

going to have a final round of hotpot on the 15th.. also going to attempt to make tangyuan =)))

here's wishing all our loved ones and friends a smooth yr ahead..
all wishes come true...
