Washington D.C (9th-11th April 2010)

we made a road trip to Washington D.C with some of Mr Ong's classmates... drove abt 20hrs and travel 1200miles (to and fro) just to catch a glimpse of the Cherry Blossom surrounding the beautiful historic monuments and buildings.

Along the way, we stopped several times for toilet, rest and food breaks. One of the stops was on the this hill top.. it was damn cold and windy and it even snowed a little, but the view up hill is breathe taking and totally worth it.

We also stopped at Gettysburg, a town full of american civil war history.

Although we missed the peak blooming of all the 3700 Cherry Blossom trees, we still managed to see abt 100 trees that were well bloomed.

The buildings in D.C are full of history and are all very beautiful, perhaps its the capital, thats why all the buildings are so beautiful. I'm kinda of a sucker for old, victorian, beige & white stoned & marbled buildings with flowers/ angles cravings, cuz they are so simple and can be so romantic against the gorgeous sunset lightings...

We also watched the american version of Ching-gay.. not as impressive like the SG version, but it was fun watching... everything much more simple and less commercial...the weather was so good that we kena sunburn muhahaha.. needed the sun as my vitamin D was even lower then my last test... hahahaha

As it the Cherry Blossom period, there was a Japanese pasa malam after the ching-gay. There were stalls selling various expensive but relatively good jap food. There were beer and sake garden and ppl dressing in kimonos and cos-play.

Oh yeah, we stayed at Hyatt Regency which was downtown and it was walking distance to all the activities and all the historic monuments and museums and yes, we walk 98% of our trips to the museums, it was tiring and fun!!

the real world

kids are bundle of joy to parents yet can be a pain in the ass as well... having ur own makes a family complete to a certain extend...and a woman really a woman... and having kids just seem to be the next order after marriage... but life is as such.. the more u want kids, the chances of disappointment of not having is higher... the more u do not want one, the higher the chance they will have it.. well this is life..

anything is possible if u have faith and willing to wait and try.. but one should plan, like bringing the chances up of conceiving by eating the right food, vitamins, doing the right kind of exercise, best timing, best body temp for etc.... however, there are also times where nothing can be done and all u can do is get on with ur life and live it they way u plan...

had a talk with Mr Ong, what happens if we can't have our own kids.. he said he is fine with it.. more time and money to do things for the 2 of us... but he loves kids alot.. having his own will be so different then playing with others... no no no, nothing is wrong, just talking about it as this is a real-life situation that may or may not happen...

having time on hand set me thinking.. about my last 5 yrs, the present and the next 5 years...

while some people, have as long as 5-10yr plan for their years.. what kind of job to get, when to complete degree, where when to get married, where to go for dream honeymoon, when to have 1st kid, when to have 2nd kid etc...

while me on the other hand, just went with the flow pretty much... what i felt was right at that moment, i go for it.. .. so what if it turns out bad? the world did not end, life still went on and tada~~ here i am, 5 yrs after graduating fr poly, after 3 different jobs and happily married...

i always like school, because its carefree and fun... super different fr the working world, but it was not a priority on my list of to-do things.. simply because i did not want to further my education on a course that has nothing to do with my work in future... but unfortunately, in the real working world, that paper qualification is necessary... which set me thinking is it time to get a degree and should i consider that in my next 5yr plan?

well, more or less i do have a next 5-10yr plan, which is flexible that includes the possibility of pursuing that paper qualification,  planning for a team of canoe polo babies, holidays to keep us sane fr the real world,  and keeping it all simple, happy, contented ....

so much so for having too much time on had right now... muahahaha

hopefully we will be able to make it to Washington DC this wkend to catch the Cherry Blossom... else have to either wait for next yr or if going japan then will have chance liao..hahahaha

have been trying to learn Italian on my own...hahaha its not easy, but i not giving up yet...

managed to use Google Sketchup and drew out our love nest's floor plan and turning it to 3D.. putting in various furniture, painting the walls, putting curtains, blinds, trial and error, trying to design it...tweeting it here and there, hahaha its fun...

its rumored that our TOP will be 4th quarter this yr.. if its true... the completed design will enable us to save time when we go back and get the place done up and move in by CNY 2011..ahahhaa but that also can only be done if Mr Ong's request to extend for another winter semester is denied... else we will be back only april 2011

will be doing lots of packing as we will be moving out fr our current apartment to a bigger one.. we cant stand our neighbor upstairs stomping like a 400pound cow whenever he moves from place to place...

also packing stuff for my in-laws to help bring back to SG after their summer trip.... i've packed like 3 bags worth of clothes lar.... jeans, dresses, tees.... hahahaa summer trip will do more shopping...hahahaha
