Kids....

I was on my way back to the work this afternoon when i heard a group of angelic voices ahead of me.. its sounded like a group of pre-sch kids talking to each other...their voices were high-pitched, sounded very excited, as if they just came back from a wonderful place where they had plenty of fun and they cant stop talking abt it......

Out of curiosity, i followed the voices and found myself standing outside this childcare development center, watching at least 2 dozens of little kids busy chatting with each other at the same time trying to take off their shoes before entering the centre. All of them are wearing blue uniform and trust me, they look so cuteee that i feell like going up and pitching their rosy cheeks..hehe (sound like those o-ba-san!!!), but i cant, as they are now inside the centre, and i cld only watch them thru the glass doors...cant hear wat are they talking abt...only muffle laughters and occasion screams of joy!! Even without hearing their little conversations, i cld still see their excited expressions..they talk with their eyes wide open.. their hands all over the air trying to make out something...they look so innocent...

oh yeah...one little tough guy got too excited that he climb up the chairs and started to jump up and down.. the other kids look up to him and got excited too.they started talking even more..hehe like anytime they will join in...!! Guess wat did their teacher do?? yep she carried the "leader" and made him stand at this little corner, back against the wall, facing the other kids...ordered him to stand there till he's sorry... i reckon that area is the "punishment area". The "leader" immediately stop taking and obediently stand there.. he looked sorry... and just keep quiet.. some of the kids started teasing him for getting punished by going "oor oorr..obi obi..hehehe". While others just cont their little conversations..

I once watch a program on TV abt teaching ur kids.. The program is call "Super Nanny". Its a british program, where this super nanny goes around the country helping helpless parents with their super-hyper active kids that creates the most trouble and refuse to obey their parents.. wat the teacher did was pretty similar to wat the nanny did. Both of them created a small area, where the naughty kid has to stand there to recieve their punishment if they do something which they know they should not do... by doing this, it somehow "shame" them cuz the other kids will start to tease him. So in future if he wants to start jumping up and down on the chair again, he will tink twice before doing it. It aso serves as a warning to the other kids, if they choose to follow the leader "leader", they will be punished too...

I personally tink tat its a pretty gd way to let ur kids learn discipline and respect... if only adults are like kids, so innocent, u cld tell them a with reason and then they know tat they are in wrong instead of being in self-denial...trying ways and means to get around their mistakes...

So tats how i spent 5 mis of my busy day today, observing them and temporary cleared my mind of any problems at work... its so smooothing...hehehe

oh yeah... one of my new yr resolution is to do regular volunteering work from 2007 onwards. Since i like hanging out with kids, i've decided on my choice of charitable organization. Its the Children Cancer Foundation. I'll be a Player Personnel at the KK hospital , children's dept. Exact scope i still dunno yet.. if everything goes well, 8 feb 07 i'll start my volunteering, its once a week, two hours each session...wait for more update!!!

Bye bye my hair....bye bye my fringe...~~~

Ever wonder why those celebrities always prefer their own hairstylist for all their events, shows and public appearances, no matter how much each haircut cld cost them?? And usually they will stick to one for yrs... (imagine how much these top stylists earns wor!! David Gan is one of them...)

I can only come to one conclusion, thats because only their personal hairstylist knows what kind of hairstyle & color suits them the most...they are like your best friend, where they will be very frank with you which haircut flatters you the most...and also be very frank with you which haircut you think is great actually sucks... and u know wat, they are 98% correct all the time!! which is why you will love them so much, feels so safe with them when your hair is under the mercy of their scissors...zip zip zip~~

Alrighty, the purpose of this post is because of my fringe!! its ruin!!
I've been a loyal customer at this particular salon in Toa Payoh fro almost 10yrs... but because my mum was saying how great this new hairstylist opposite was, i decided to give it a try...not aware of the consquences i'm facing!! MY FRINGE IS RUIN!! The length is uneven, the thickness aso not there...!! arghhhhhhhh...if i were to go back to my original hairstylist, she sure will laugh at me one lar...can imagine wat she will say "see lar...told you dun anyhow cut lar..now look like clown liao lar...obi good!!"

So, i realli regret cutting my fringe with another stylist..even though some of my colleagues like how it look...but most commented that the fringe looks weird due to the uneveness in length & thickness. Feel so much to pick up the scissors and cut it myself!! but before i make it worse.. I'll make it a point to onli go back to my original stylist no matter if I have to make trip down to Toa Payoh... it pays to be a loyal customer.....

Flour + Butter + Pineapple = Made with Love Pineapple Tarts be ME!!

Yeah!!! I spent the whole afternoon making pineapple tarts!! and its a success!!! I tried doing it last Sunday but it failed terribly, luckily with the help of my mummy tis time , we made it!!

Here's how it looks like, we did 2 patterns, the usual one where the pineapple filling in on top of a flowered-shape dough, the other where the pineapple filling is wrapped inside & shaped into a small round ball.

I personally feel tat for a first timer making pineapple tarts, i give myself abt 7 out of 10? at least presentable and none of the tarts was "char tar". It taste not too bad, the filling isnt too sweet or sour or burnt (i used the pre-pack pineapple filling cuz the other time when i tried to cook it, was all burnt up!!), the crust was filled with nice smell of butter taste but not too strong tat covers the filling itself. Although the round-shape tarts looked more like "dao shar biscuits" So the next batch i do, i will take note and practise more on the presentation!!

Mummy will be distributing some to our relatives..hee heee... does it looks like those u buy from the confectionery?? not bad right??

I've always like cooking and baking for my family. Cuz it's home-cook/made food with lots of love that you do not get from outside. Although most of the time its not realli very appetizing, sometimes the presentation sucks, the tot was there. & u know whats the best thing, ur family do appreciate what you do, even though they joke & say "eeeeew, so ugly one!!" or "huh...can eat anot??"

Special thanks to my mummy who was helping me to clear some of the utenzils and the reminders to watch the timing for the tarts... and i realli enjoy the afternoon with my mum with no one around..now tis is wat i call quality mother-daughter time spent!! Especially when i do not spent alot of time at home!!

I promise mummy next wk will do spring cleaning with her then we will go Chinatown to get some more CNY goodies!! This time round gonna get my bro & sis along too...if only Daddy can make it...

The Sims 2

I recieved the 2nd edition of The Sims 2 as a xmas present...& right now.....i'm exploring how to play it!!

The Sims 2 is a game where u create ur own virtual family...give them their own character, how they dress, wat hair style, wat makeup etc... i can even watch my character age from gurling babies to adults with their own children, all the while striving to achieve their life goals. I can even create my own houses & neighbourhoods. I even have to manage my characters so they experience the rewards of a life well lived!!

This may sounds like a not so cool game, but trust me, its a very interesting game. The character(s) somehow reflects how I want my life to be...or it cld be a fantasy life...??

What if life is as easy as just playing this game? U create a character which her own personality...u cld perfect this character by eliminating all the flaws and create a perfect life, but the question is..wld you be happy in the end?? I believe that everything happens for a reason & tat God is fair.. he gives u something and takes away something.. something u tink bad has happen to you might actualy be a blessing in disguise... it all depends on how u look at it.. most importantly is that we learn from the process..but how often do we realli learn and fail ourselves??

my first blog.....~~

Oh well... as the titles suggest, tis is my very first blog..yes yes...i know i'm very mountain tortise...hehehe

So y did i start den?? there are a few reasons. One of them is teachnology- i guess as the technology advances, it cld help us simplify our daily lives & aso help to save some time... we use the internet almost everyday wich makes it very natural to sit in front of the comp & start to type away... & yes, it helps me save paper and ink... (i was still writing all my tots in a diary in ink yest!!).

Secondly, I realise that after leaving sch, each of move on with our lives and seldom talk as much as we do while still in sch.. having a blog allow us to know what is happen to each other... like i know how is Betsy doing...and wich part of the world is she in... how is she doing with her assignment...etc etc...

Thirdly, aso to let uncle dar dar, who is far away in UK noe how am i doing....

Lastly, i can bitch abt anyone i want!! haha...abt work, abt life, abt myself...!!

Alot of tots on my mind now, but i'm too tired to cont writing.. ill cont tml!!! hehehe....

Wonder if i'll switch back to paper & ink??
