Fishing (26th July 2010)

We went on a fishing trip at Grand Haven, which is about 2.5 hrs drive away...

Our Captain was waiting for us at the Chinook Pier, his boat was named Danel...

This is not the traditional fishing trip whereby u lower a live bait and u wait patiently for the fish to eat it. Instead, 13 rods are laid out all at the same time with colorful-made baits... all we had to do is watch for the rod to struggle and then we pick up the rod and 'fight' with the fish.. its a good experience especially for rookies like us.... would still want to try the traditional fishing style though....

Now i know why ppl like fishing... no only it trains your patient, it is a good workout when u reel in ur catch.. and the excitement it brings when u caught it... u also value the experience  of loss when the fish got away.. hehehee

And we watch one of the best sunset on the lake ever....it was lovely and romantic... heheheeh

The good thing about this trip is that the Captain will flay the fishes u caught.. u just need to let them know how u want it to be done... and we learnt that the ang mos really dunno how to appreciate fish.. they only eat the meaty parts of the body and throw away the tails, the belly and the heads for the salmons... of cuz being Asians we request to ta-bao all the bones and head and bellies of the salmon of our catch and those left behind by the previous batch of ang-mos......

In total, we cauht 3 King Salmons, 1 Lake Trout & 1 Still Head.. hehehehe.. as all these are lake fishes, not very good to eat as sashimi... heheheh

I love the feeling of sweat dripping down my arms onto the floor... 

I love the feeling of seeing my pool of sweat on the floor...

I love the feeling of my heart rate shooting up to 160 beats per min....

I love the feeling of breathing harder and harder...

I love the feeling of getting active again.... 

Tribute to the Spaniards

Against all odds, SPAIN won the 2010 World Cup Championship. This glorious win adds on to their 2008 Euro Cup... double champions!!!!

They started as one of the favourites in the championship, but after losing 1-0 to the Swiss in their opening match, most commented that it will be hard for them to bounce back and let alone win the WC, plus, statistic showed that the possibility for Spain to win is very very very low... but they did it !!!!

Anything is possible as long as the faith, the of never-give-up-till-the-end spirit, the patience, the team-work is present.... Spain have showed this for every match...because they never gave up,  history is written by them....

The Spain team has some of the best players with outstanding performance for this tournament: David Villa, Xavi Hernández, Andres Iniesta, Puyol, Iker Casillas,Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso and Gerard Piqué.

David Villa, fast and furious throughout the game created some magical moments with his goals...

Xavi  Hernández, his assist free kicks are beautifully executed 100%....

Andres Inesita, a hard-working and humble guy who gave his 150% for each ball and seeing him being tackled down the most and then getting up for another 150% chase is high.... players like him are what make the game more worthwhile to watch... plus the fact that he paid tribute to his former team mate, Dani Jarque, after he score the winning goal makes him a even sweeter man.

Pyuol, besides his luscious curly-fries locks, u cant deny his defense and judgement and the crucial header against the Germans which eventually led them to be crown as the WC 2010 Champions... 

Iker Casillas, one of the best keeper of his time, saved some pretty impressive goals... not forgetting he has a super hot girlfriend..muaahahaha

Sergio Ramos, love his hair and also his talent... =))

Xabi Alonso, though his efforts of long shots did not score, he is still one of the best defending midfielder... and hate to see him kena kungfu kick on the chest...hahaha damn why cant he stay in liverpool longer.. 

Disappointing performance by Fernando Torres, guess the thigh injury and the pressure to score has gotten to him... definitely hope to see more of him playing...

Besides the fact that Paul the Octopus has made 100% prediction muahhaaha, Spain has worked hard too for this tournament. Since now they are the WC Champions, do hope that they will not be plaque by the curse of the what Italy, France and Brazil went thru, kena kick out early in the match... would still want to see the humble & hardworking Spain team do more magic... !!!

The Dutch did a very impressive job as well and they are here to stay!!!

The German tankers are a very young team and they are definitely a force not to be reckon with. 

Ahhh... Diego Forlan, the man who single-handedly brought Uruguay so far into the world cup.. his last min goal-effort against the Germans could have brought them to extra time and he no doubt have created many wonderful goals... his best tournament... shld be able to see him for a few more yrs before he retired??

now that these world class players are rich, famous and talented, hopefully will not get to see scandalous news of them cheating on their wives, getting caught using drugs etc... hahahah but again... who am i to judge????

Strawberry Picking (21st June 2010)

as its the peak for strawberries, we went strawberry picking.

The best strawberries can be found just under the leaves... 

they are all so red, fat, sweet and juicy... i even found really heart-shaped ones..
i had fun picking them and can stay whole day in the field just picking them... hehehee
